Works in Progress - Linoprint

Linoprint

Description of Process:
Linocut gouges are used to carve lines and mark-making into a lino block. The uncarved areas are inked up using a roller and then printed. Multiple copies of the same image can be printed from the same block, with variations in colour.

I became curious about this media through DVAC (see under links) and have come to love it. Currently, I am working on a series of linoprints of homes, inspired by the Lawren Harris
print: Winter In the City, which can be seen at the McMichael
Gallery.
Lino with image cut out. Notice that the lino is a reverse image from the desired resulting print.
